ACG Babandede Host AIG Of Customs Police, Festus Chinedu Oko On Inter Agency Collaboration



In a landmark meeting held on Wednesday October 15,2025 at the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit Zone 'A' headquarters, Lagos, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs Mohammed Babandede hosted Assistant Inspector -General of Police Festus Chinedu Oko(psc) of the Maritime police command, Lagos on a high level courtesy visit focused on deepening inter-agency collaboration.

According to a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, CSC  Akaninyene  Edeminam,   stated that AIG of police commended the Nigeria Customs Service for it's unwavering dedication, professionalism in trade facilitation and protection of lives.He noted that the service role in revenue collection and trade facilitation remains pivotal to the country's socio-economic growth and stability.



Speaking during the visit, the Zonal Coordinator Zone 'A', Mohammed Babandede commended the Assistant Inspector -General of Police, Maritime command and his management team for their continued commitment to legitimate service delivery and emphasize the Nigeria Customs Service remains a partner in progress, balancing trade facilitation with the enforcement of fiscal policies.



He further reiterate that "we cannot afford to let procedural overlaps hinder our economic rebirth. Both leaders recommitted to real-time intelligence sharing and joint protocols to prevent duplicate inspections, collaborative framework to ensure that security measures complement rather than complicate trade facilitation.
