FANO Group Congratulates The CG Of Customs On Tenure Elongation, Re-Election As WCO Chair



Fano Shipping Agencies Limited a subsidiary of FANO Group has congratulated the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi PhD, MFR, psc+, on his six months tenure extension by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. 

In a congratulatory letter personally signed and made available to journalists  by Chairman of Fano Group, HRH, Eze Amb. Damian Emeka Obianigwe, KSM, JP,  he commended the President for extending the tenure of the Comptroller General of Customs whom he described as a thorough bred officer, astute administrator and organizational genius. 

Eze Obianigwe, who is the traditional Ruler, (Ezeoha, Obi of Isi Ihitteowerri Autonomous  Community, Orlu, Imo State) and the President General, Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria- ASIMPIN,  also felicitates the Comptroller General of Customs on his re-election as Chairman of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council at the Organization's 147th and 148th Council Session held in Brussels, Belgium. 

According to Eze Obianigwe, "the CGC's re-election as WCO Chair is a clear attestation to his leadership and organizational  ingenuity, his innovative ideas and noble initiatives have not only transformed the Nigerian Customs Service but have evoked international collaboration which l strongly believe, is tremendously promoting global trade."

"Sir, your leadership at the Nigeria Customs Service has been characterized by innovations that have grossly enhanced revenue generation, border security, facilitation of legitimate trade as well as Customs operational efficiency."

The revered Traditional Ruler described the CGC'S re-election as a milestone achievement and a clear testament of his visionary leadership and organizational ingenuity, adding that he had within a short period of time transformed the Nigeria Customs Service, an achievement which he said, had triggered a surge of Nigeria's influence in global customs administration.

"It is an empirical fact that what we have today as Nigeria Customs Service is a far departure from what was obtainable four years ago. The Nigeria Customs Service has been transformed and modernized under the formidable leadership of the CGC and his team." 

"Today, one can process his/her documents from home, body contacts have been reduced. The Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), known as B'Odogwu, an indigenous platform, has successfully and effectively replaced the NCIS 11, and l strongly believe it will only get better. All thanks to the CGC and his team."

Eze Obianigwe in the letter, prayed God Almighty to continually grant the CGC the wisdom and professional fortitude to finish strong.
