The newly appointed Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Tincan Strategic Command, Commander Solomon Gbadebo Omotosho, on Wednesday, 25th March 2026, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Area Command, Lagos.
According to a statement issued by CSC V. U. Ogagbor, Public Relations Officer of the command, the visit was aimed at formally introducing the Commander and strengthening collaboration between both agencies in the collective fight against narcotics trafficking within the maritime corridor.
Receiving the delegation, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Bolaji Lukman Adigun, described the engagement as timely, noting that the port environment remains a critical frontline in the prevention of illicit drug movements. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to robust enforcement while ensuring the smooth facilitation of legitimate trade.
Deputy Comptroller Adigun further emphasized the importance of sustained intelligence sharing, coordinated cargo profiling, and joint examination procedures as key strategies in enhancing operational effectiveness and curbing the activities of drug trafficking syndicates.
In his remarks, Commander Solomon Gbadebo Omotosho stated that the visit was necessary to establish a strong working relationship with the KLT Command and to reinforce operational synergy in addressing narcotics trafficking. He highlighted the need for seamless communication, proactive intelligence exchange, and coordinated enforcement actions to achieve measurable results.
He added that the NDLEA remains committed to working closely with the Nigeria Customs Service to disrupt illicit drug networks and strengthen national security.
The visit featured the exchange of plaques between both agencies, symbolizing goodwill and a shared commitment to sustained cooperation.
The engagement concluded with both agencies reaffirming their resolve to deepen collaboration, enhance operational coordination, and maintain a united front in safeguarding Nigeria’s maritime borders from illicit activities.
