The Seme Krake Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has welcomed a new Area Controller in person of Comptroller A.L Kaila who formally took over the mantle of leadership from Comptroller Wale Adenuga at the ECOWAS Joint Border Post last week.

‎The former comptroller Adenuga officially handed over the reigns of leadership to him, marking the end of his tenure as the Customs Area Controller of the Command.

‎Speaking at the handover ceremony, Adenuga said the command had increased revenue from N5.17 million to N1.5 billion.

‎‎He described the feat as a testament to hard work and dedication of officers and men of the command urging them to cooperate with the new controller in order to achieve greatness.

‎The outgoing Comptroller thanked officers, sister agencies and stakeholders operating at the command for their support during his tenure as the controller of the command.

‎Responding, the new controller described the Seme command as a familiar terrene having earlier served in other capacities within the command.

‎He commended the outgoing comptroller for what he described as a legacy of sterling leadership, citing his tenure as one of strategic gains in revenue collection, anti-smuggling success, and stakeholders engagement.

‎He called on officers and men of the Command  to remain disciplined and professional, noting that unity and ethical conduct would be essential for the Command’s success.

‎Reiterating on the core mandates of the service which includes Revenue Generation, Trade Facilitation, Anti Smuggling, and National Security as his priorities, Kaila however, solicited the support and cooperation as well as  expressed confidence that collective efforts would drive the command to greater heights despite the challenges ahead.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of key security and government agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Port Health Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Air Force, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), as well as community leaders in Seme.
