COMPTROLLER Alkali Strengthens Ties With Security Agencies At Onne Seaport



The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Port Harcourt II Area Command, Comptroller Aliyu M. Alkali, has embarked on a series of strategic courtesy visits to key stakeholders operating at the Onne Seaport. 

The initiative is aimed at strengthening collaboration, intelligence sharing, and inter-agency cooperation to achieve shared objectives and improve compliance with existing trade and security regulations.

During the visits, Comptroller Alkali met with the Commander of Narcotics, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Port Harcourt Ports Command, Omerio Mathias Odo; the Director of State Security, Port Harcourt Ports Command; and the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School, Onne, Rear Admiral Victor D. Choji.

He underscored the need for teamwork and effective synergy among all government agencies operating within the port, stressing that joint efforts are vital for operational success. 

The CAC reaffirmed his dedication to the Comptroller-General of Customs’ policy thrust of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation, noting that strong stakeholder engagement is essential for achieving efficiency and regulatory compliance.


“I believe that consistent engagement with stakeholders will strengthen our partnerships and promote better adherence to regulations. I am committed to maintaining and improving the cordial relationships we already share, and I call for your continued cooperation,” Alkali stated.

In response, the various stakeholders expressed their readiness to collaborate closely with the Customs Service. The NDLEA Commander pledged to work hand-in-hand with the CAC to curb illicit drug trafficking within the port. The Director of State Security assured continued sharing of relevant intelligence to support Customs operations, while Rear Admiral Choji reiterated the Navy’s commitment to safeguarding the maritime domain and providing operational support within the limits of the law.

These ongoing visits reflect Comptroller Alkali’s proactive leadership style and his dedication to continuous stakeholder engagement. His approach demonstrates a strong commitment to effective revenue generation, regulatory compliance, and enhanced security across the Onne Seaport.
