The command boss while handing over the seized cannabis to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration. He stated that the partnership will  not only align with government directives but also reflects the Command’s commitment to public health, national security, and protecting Nigerian youth from the dangers of drug abuse.

He assured that the service remains vigilant, resolute, and unyielding no matter the sophistication of smuggling tactics. He warned that his officers will continue to intercept and enforce the law without compromise.

The controller commended the dedication of his officers, the support of sister security agencies, and the cooperation of patriotic border communities, warning smugglers that their tricks will continue to fail.

“No matter the sophistication of your antics, Ogun I Command will remain vigilant, resolute, and unyielding. We shall bring the full weight of the law against you,” he warned.

He noted that the fight against smuggling is a shared responsibility, adding that the Service will continue to strengthen intelligence sharing, innovation, and cooperation in line with the policy thrust of Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.

NDLEA Area Commander, Idiroko Special Command, Ekundayo Williams, expressed gratitude for the continued collaboration, noting that this marks the third handover of seized illicit drugs from Ogun 1 Customs in the past two months.

“This seizure will greatly impact our economy, security, and the future of our youths. We will continue to work with Customs to rid Idiroko and its environs of drug trafficking until these merchants of death abandon their illicit trade,” Williams said.
