Lekki Port Promotes Efficiency, As NPA Coordinates OSS Initiative To Streamline Distribution Of Fuel To DANGOTE Refinery In Naira

 


The Lekki Deep Sea Port is daily witnessing growing business activities as the working environment continues to show more improvements. 

One of such factors is the One-Stop-Shop programme which seeks to drive the Naira-For-Crude Oil sales.

Recall on October 1st, 2024, the  Federal Government of Nigeria  established a One-Stop-Shop (OSS) initiative to drive the programme for the Naira-For-Crude sales. 

The programme has been revealed to be a tremendous success by the managing director of the Nigeria Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho.

His words "the OSS, which is domiciled and being coordinated by the NPA, has achieved a tremendous success to ensure the availability of Petroleum products in the country". 

The NPA is coordinating the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) initiative to streamline the sale and distribution of petroleum products in Naira, particularly for the Dangote Refinery

The OSS involves various regulatory and security agencies, including the Nigerian Navy, NNPC Limited, FIRS, the Customs, NIMASA, and NDLEA, to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

The management of the Lekki Deep Sea Port under the control of the Port manager, Mr. Emmanuel Anda has also received good commendations from Port users for the increase in cargo throughput, less cargo dwell time, higher predictability ratio and the general efficiency being recorded currently at the Port.

However,  the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government-Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) Maritime Branch is strengthening ties with the operators of the Lekki Deep Sea Port.

The chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) senior staff union, Comrade Akinola Bodunde disclosed this much when his team visited the Lekki Port Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Anda and other staff members of the NPA at the Port.


Among the chairman's entourage were Rotimi Holms ,PR0, Oluwole Ezekiel Trustee 1, Frederick Ochormogor DEP President, Adolphus Eko, General Secretary,  Richard Onwordi Trustee 3.

The visit underscores the SSASCGOC Maritime Branch’s commitment to fostering collaboration and improving working conditions at one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing seaports located in Lagos. 

The chairman, Akin Bodunde also pledged the Union's  commitment to the welfare and safety of lives of the workforce within the Port environment.  

He further asked  for the management's support in the area of collaboration towards promoting staff productivity aimed at optimising efficient Port services across board". 

While  thanking the union for their  effort so far,  the Port Manager Mr Emmanuel Anda promised  to collaborate with them to find solutions in the areas of concern which is in line with the vision of the MD NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho. 

He  further urges the SSASCGOC members to continue to support the NPA management in their quest to build a robust relationship and an optimal working environment that enhances productivity in the Maritime industry.
