Compt. Nnadi Breaks Fast With Muslims, Calls For Stakeholders Collaborations

The Customs Area Controller Tin Can Island Command, Comptroller Dera A Nnadi mni, hosted a dinner to celebrate the 18th day of IFTAR with Muslim brethen as well as to usher in the celebration of Easter with Christian brethen. Comptroller Nnadi highlighted the importance of coming together to uphold the nation in prayers for continuous development. The CAC applauded the Port Manager, Mr Sylvester O. Egede who recently resumed at the port and has achieved a great feat due to the synergy between the Customs, other Sister security agencies, stakeholders as well as the press that has always reported the activities of the port positively.
Speaking at the occasion, the Area Controller urged all stakeholders to be dedicated in their respective fields towards national growth and development. Nnadi spoke highly of Egede’s feat at the port within a short time of his arrival and urged all stakeholders to be dedicated to working for national growth.. He expressed his appreciation towards the collaboration received by truck operators and craved that they should endeavour to understand that the resolved traffic situation is a positive development that will encourage seamless vehicular movement and multiple turnovers within a short time to the port, as compared to what was obtained in the past.
According to him, the traffic situation has caused deaths to some road users and adversely affected government drive for trade facilitation and ease of doing business.
In his response, the Tin Can Island Port Manager gave insight and explained how a combination of long standing work experience, environmental awareness and institutional knowledge contributed to solving the traffic challenge that obstructed the flow of vehicular movement from Mile 2 to the Tin Can Seaport. In his closing remark, the controller thanked all who made out time to honour the invitation, especially the Imam of TCIPC Mosque, who gave the closing prayers at the event.
