The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has described as top notch and satisfying the quality of work done in the rehabilitation of the Tincan Port Administrative Building.
Executive Director of NPA, Engineering and Technical Services, Ibrahim Abba Umar, stated this while on a working visit to Tincan Island Port Administrative Building. He promised to ensure that additional air-conditioners and beffiting furniture required to enhance activities in the new Conference Room of the building would be provided alongside every other items necessary to make the building attain what he described as a respectable standard.

Engr Umar who inspected the entire edifice floor-to-floor also visited the Agency Building where he gave kudos for the quality of work done.
Earlier, the Port Manager Tincan Island Port, Mr Sylvester O. Egede informed the visiting ED about the need for additional air-conditioners and furniture for the new Conference Room.
Engr Umar was also at the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Headquarters on Osho Drive, Ajegunle, to inspect a building construction project being sponsored by the NPA.
He expressed displeasure with the contractor handling the project, advising him to step up his job or risk not being paid.
The agency’s Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Olalekan Badmus same week also paid a maiden official visit to the Tincan Island Port and inspected all the terminal operators within the Port complex.
While speaking at the Tincan Admin Building, he charged the staff to support the terminal operators at all times “since the more money they get, the more revenue for NPA “.

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all operations, he stated, must be provided to the terminal operators in order to keep a close tap on their operations.
Specifically, he directed the Safety Department of Tincan Port to frequently pay unscheduled visits to the terminals in the Complex to determine their level of compliance with the SOP. Where infractions are observed, stating that appropriate sanctions should be meted out.
Earlier at the visit, the Port Manager, Tincan Island Port, Sylvester O. Egede, had briefed the ED M &O on the history, functions and recent activities of the Tincan Port.
