TIPC Targets #1.130 Trillion Revenue In 2024 As Compt. Nnadi Declares 2024 Stakeholders Year

The Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has stated that the command has an ambiguous sum of One Trillion, One Hundred and Thirty billion, seven hundred and sixty eight million, fifty one thousand, eight hundred and eighty one naira (N1,130, 768,051,881.29) as its target in year 2024. The Customs Area Controller of the Command Compt. Dera Nnadi stated this while briefing newsmen in his command on Tuesday. Nnadi said the command which collected over N716 billion revenue in 2023 out of the over N801 billion target last year, was given a higher task for its performance in the previous year. According to Nnadi, to meet up with the target, the command is to generate over ninety four billion naira every week as revenue in order to meet up with the target. While expressing optimism, Comptroller Nnadi said that the target was achievable even as he stated that the command has tagged the year 2024 the year of stakeholders. This he said , that the command is expected to generate a total of One Trillion, One Hundred and Thirty billion, seven hundred and sixty eight million, fifty one thousand, eight hundred and eighty one naira (N1, 130, 768, 051, 881. 29).
According to him, the command is expected to generate Twenty One billion, six hundred and sixty six million, two hundred and twenty seven thousand, two hundred and sixteen naira, twelve kobo weekly. Analysing the performance of the previous year, he maintained that the command deployed capacity building for officers and stakeholders as one of the tools to make its mandate achievable. He added that deployment of ICT helped the command to optimize its efficiency in the outline year even as he maintained that more of the system would be applied for better efficient in the new year. He noted that 24 hours and weekend port operations were applied in the previous year.
Comptroller Nnadi applauded the officers of the command as well as stakeholders for their cooperation in generating the huge sum in 2023. He declared that the 2024 has been tagged as a year of the stakeholders in apparent recognition of their roles in revenue generation, urged them not to be intimidated by the ambiguous revenue target. “We have decided that 2024 is going to be a year of stakeholders in Tin Can Island in 2024. “But we will not relent to deal decisively with those who are not willing to cooperate. Compt. Nnadi called on Nigerians to encourage export of goods which he said will help on the economy survival of the nation. Compt. Nnadi equally commended the Enforcement Unit of the command headed by DC Aliyu for their resilience last year. “I must commend the DC Enforcement and his team for this. One other significant thing about our seizures is that most of them were mainly psychotropic substances that would have harmed the youths of this nation and that would have aided the insecurity in the country.
